"A little girl's heart must be wide and deep, to hold all the things that she likes to keep."
I stumbled across this printed on a sticker while perusing the scrapbooking section of JoAnn's - there are so many beautiful and inspiring little things in there!
This definitely pertained to me as a little girl. When going on walks with my mother, I would pick up just about every rock and then proceed to keep every rock I picked up. You should have seen my rock collection...it was awesome!
(Even with the large amount of ordinary and plain rocks)
This quote also rings true for me now...I like to keep a lot of things: childhood keepsakes (rock collection included), notes from friends, birthday cards, old clothes, empty soup cans, paper towel rolls, business cards, friendships, memories, the faith, hoping...
And because I over think just about everything, I realize I lose a lot of things too. Things I need to keep a better hold on. And I sometimes keep things I shouldn't; things that aren't beneficial.
It's amazing how the heart's capacity to hold things grows and grows. So my heart is wide and deep and getting wider and deeper. I like to keep what is good, and my hope is to continue keeping the good...and letting go of the bad.
